LITTLE THROATS OF SOULLESS THINGS, is an experimental collaborative olio project consisting of original music, poetry, and drawings.

This project is a limited run of 25 copies of the poetry/drawing book. But the music will remain free for download and streaming.


From the intro of the book:

"I began listening to them. The quotidian objects.

I snapped photos. I recorded audio of their moments. I strained to listen but could not hear their songs. Just their throats. I heard nothing but soft tissue. I went to work with sampling, manipulation, and artifice. The songs began, the little throats cleared, the message started. The message stopped.

You stopped.

So I wrote to you. It was a panicky time. I pleaded to open up communication. Let me in, I asked. These became poems. To you, for you.

But even then, even still, you speak behind glass. It’s true there is glass on both sides. Onyx and opaque. We cannot touch one another. We both fog up the mirror. Streaks remain even after you wipe the face.

I asked Dave Gonzalez to draw you. From your songs, from your photos. In monochrome. It fits you, don’t you think? The keening, the cawing, the silence—shades, tints, hues of one color. One dark, thick color.

Rest and be remembered here. Text, sketches, and songs. Birth and continuation, assembled here. Your peace, your anxiety, your boredom are free to move about. Free to air their dirty laundry. Rest assured. Safe here.

I still listen to you. I still pick up on the subtleties once hidden. I hope this can help communication stay open."
